Home Made Mango Ice Cream
It’s been a while since I posted a recipe. Like, years. But here we go, here’s a recipe. It’s easy-peasy, and I make no excuse for that, because it’s also perfect for this weather, and gluten free. It’s not overly healthy mind you, although it has actual real fruit in it, so you know …
We use an ice cream maker to make our ice cream and there are lots available. We have the Andrew James Ice Cream Maker which takes 1.5l. It’s cheap and cheerful as ice cream makers go – there are no fancy features, but it works well, creates beautiful ice cream and is simple to assemble, use and clean. What more could you need?
Ice cream making really doesn’t get much easier, or tastier than this!
- 3 ripe mangoes
- 500g fresh custard
- 175ml double cream
- Cut up the mango, taking care not to include any skin, and blend until it's pureed.
- Turn on the ice cream maker, and add the cream, custard and mango.
- Leave to churn until ready (varies by machine) and then place in a tub and put in the freezer.
- After around 2 hours, it's ready to eat. If you plan to leave it in the freezer longer, you'll need to take it out about 20 mins before you need it, or it will be too hard to scoop.
