Last week we went to the LinDhu Gathering as we have done for the past few years. It’s a family-friendly, Pagan(ish) festival and we go there so that Stonelaughter can display (and hopefully sell) his Native American style flutes.
We took part in lots of different things whilst we were there (which I may blog about next week), but one thing that Bean and Plum wanted to take part in was the “Colour Cloud”. This was based on the celebration of Holi, although all of the spiritual meaning was removed and this was basically just a chance for people to throw powdered paint at each other and turn the air rainbow coloured.
It was really difficult to get a photo of it all as it happened, so just imagine fifty or so people of varying ages all running around with a multicoloured fog over their heads. However, this is what the children looked like when they came back. Plum had been in the thick of it and was covered from head to toe. We’re now a week after this event, and despite all her baths and hairwashing, she still has a red scalp. C’est la vie. Bean was really up for taking part, but very early on, got a load of red powder in the eye and from them on stayed away from the main crowd. He still managed to come back with this shirt and shorts covered in purple.
So, now it’s over to you – link your parenting posts from this week, or your favourites from the past. Grab the badge if you would like to, and feel free to tweet about the linky. If you can visit one or two others who are linked, that would be great.
