A Glimpse into the Psyche of My Children
You know how there are some situations which perfectly sum up your children and their personalities, whilst demonstrating to everyone just what an odd bunch they can be? This is one of those situations.
Recently, during a Facebook conversation with Stonelaughter, he asked me to say hello to the children and tell them he loves them. I did. Their responses were perhaps not quite what he had expected.
Bean, the eldest, looked up from his book and replied
“that was random. Did he say it in German?”
I think I know who was being most random of the two of them!
Plum, mid-song, paused to say
“oh. gzeeeeeeeez theeeez geeeeezzzz”
She had been singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star in a strange new language she had invented and carried on where she left off. PK, the youngest, stopped what he was doing, looked up and smiled.
“Too”, he said (this is how he says I love you too). “ahhh, that’s nice”
Who would have thought that it would be the 18 month old who would make most sense?
And there you have it, a glimpse into the varying personalities and psyches of my children. This is pretty much standard from each of them. It’s a wonder I’m still sane!
