100 Happy Days – Day 61
Today is mine and Stonelaughter’s anniversary. We have been married eleven years. Actually if you are being technical about it, we have been handfasted for eleven years. We will have been legally married for ten years later this month.
Eleven years is represented by stainless steel, apparently. Stonelaughter looked this up and then bought me a piece if jewellery to match it. He knows me well, and the style of jewellery I like, so I was absolutely delighted when I opened this bracelet this morning. It’s leather with stainless steel beads (pictured here with a friendship bracelet I wove). I’m feeling very blessed today.
And how did we celebrate? We spent four hours on the allotment with the children, getting lots done. Bean weeded a patch and then planted his Pink Fluffy Slippers (otherwise known as Pink Fir Apple potatoes). Plum and PK dug some Very Important Holes. Stonelaughter and I dug and weeded a new bed and planted strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants, redcurrants, cranberries, fig and blueberries. I planted more peppers. Stonelaughter sealed up the base of the big greenhouse. We chatted to our neighbours and generally enjoyed the sun.
Then we all went home, had hot showers and put on clean clothes and went out for a meal together. It might not be everyone’s idea of celebrating their wedding anniversary but I loved spending it with the family, having fun and celebrating together.
