100 Happy Days – Day 54
When I was planning the menu for the week, Bean asked for tagine. We haven’t had it for ages and I had forgotten that he even liked it. He was quite specific – “the one you make with the lamb and apricots”.
So that’s what we had today. Tagine with lamb, apricots, prunes and sultanas. Some spice and heat, made sticky by the fruits. And it’s my 100 Happy Days picture for two reasons. Firstly, because one of my children requested a dish with such strong flavours, and secondly because we had it with gluten free cous cous. I haven’t had cous cous in over a decade and when I saw a packet of gluten free cous cous in the supermarket, I had to try it. It’s 100% maize semolina and it looks, tastes and cooks like ordinary cous cous. This is an exciting day for me!
The combination of lamb, apricots, prunes and sultanas sounds very tempting 🙂
It’s great when children like adventurous food! That tagine looks yummy too!
I love cous cous, and this dish looks delicious. I didn’t know they made gluten free cous cous will keep a look out for it as I feel better when I avoid gluten
Love the idea…100 Happy Days!! Thanks for sharing.
