I’ve Fallen In Love

It’s true. I never thought it would happen to me, but it has. I’ve fallen in love.

With a domestic appliance.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have fallen in love with a domestic appliance. A steam cleaner to be exact.

We’ve been thinking about getting one  for a while, so when Stonelaughter was awarded a bonus for a job well done, he decided we should get one.

And we love it. The grouting in the bathroom is a nightmare to clean. It’s always been discoloured, so whilst you can clean it, it never looks clean because of the discolouring. We’ve tried every cleaning product known to man to sort this, but none of them have been up to the job. My new best friend made light work of that job. I was so impressed that I rifled through the accessories and used a variety of them to steam clean the tiles, windows, mirrors, floor – even the bath and sink, just because I could.  Please wear sunglasses to avoid damage to your eyes if you venture in there.

The stainless steel hob was next.  That was fun. It’s not difficult to clean a stainless steel hob anyway, but there was a nasty black bit where DH burnt some milk and we’ve never been able to lift it off. Well, it hasn’t disappeared, but it’s much better than it was.

The worktops are gleaming in a way that doesn’t happen when they are cleaned with a cloth and cleaning fluid. A lovely deep clean does wonders. Please wear sunglasses when you venture in there.

I’m not sure what the best bit is, but it might be the fact that you can wear it over your shoulder and pretend you’re a Ghostbuster. Umm. Yeah.

The kitchen floor is next on the list, and Stonelaughter wants to try out the carpet function. Then the sofas. If you see my children, please warn them not to stand still for too long….

  1. We use our steam cleaner all the time too and are constantly amazed by the “permanent” stains it gets out.

  2. Definitely a fan of the steam cleaner as well. It works wonders on discolored grout. Steam On!
