A Housewife in the Making

I am in danger. Real danger.

I am in danger of becoming a housewife, living in domestic bliss. Maybe

It’s been three years since I worked “outside the home” although for the first 18 months of that I was officially still employed, albeit on a mix of sick leave, maternity leave and gardening leave. But I’ve never been in any danger of being a housewife, not even a bad one.

This week however, things might change. There have been deliveries at the Barefoot home which have made me giddy with anticipation. One of them was a slow cooker, which I am very excited about. I LOVE to cook and have been after a decent sized slow cooker for a while, so this is no surprise to me. Of course it’s exciting. It’s a slow cooker for goodness sake.

What my kitchen now smells of

I have to confess to being surprised by my giddiness over the other delivery though. I was excited about the arrival of …. cleaning products. Kitchen cleaner, bathroom cleaner, laundry detergent and washing up liquid. WTF? And they smell … wonderful. And as a result, I have spent much of my time today cleaning the bejeezus out of the kitchen and bathroom because it just smells soooo good. It’s scary.

And now, if you don’t mind, I’ve just spotted a bit I missed in the kitchen. *ahem*

  1. I LOVE my slow cooker! I’ve had an experiment where I used all my other cooking gadgets rather than just a conventional cooker. I’ve made chilli, roast chicken, pork, beef and lamb, as well as cake, bread and crumble. Totally had no idea they were so versatile until I embarked on this. Definitely getting a cooker soon though. I’ve learnt a lot but I’m finished!
