The One Where I Wonder

I read a lot of emails and info on the interne, giving advice to small businesses, Mums who work from home, those looking to create a passive income.

Ebooks seems to be a popular choice – write an ebook about something you know a lot about and sell it.  Sell it though lots of avenues. Make money.  Well, there’s a bit more to it than that of course, but that’s the gist.  I don’t think ebooks are for me.  I’m not sure the things I know a lot about are really the types of thing people would buy an ebook on.  Maybe I’m wrong about that, but when I think about what I could write an ebook about, nothing springs to mind, which kind of suggests it’s not for me.

However, several years ago I recorded a series of guided meditations.  I had them professionally recorded and I used to sell them on CD at Mind, Body, Spirit shows, on ebay and from my own website.  For a variety of reasons, that’sno longer a good option for me – mainly because of the amount of time involved in picking and packing orders, especially now when I have so much else going on.  But I have the files for these meditations.  In my experience, most people would listen to these tracks on their MP3 player anyway, so selling them as downloadable MP3s seems like a good idea.  Perhaps even a smart idea.

My question is where?  Where do I offer these?  There are around 30 different tracks, maybe more.  I’m wondering what the best avenue would be, and I would love to hear from anyone who has experience of creating a passive income in this way.

Should I try and create an income stream for myself out of work I did some time ago?  It seems like such a waste to have them sitting there doing nothing.

  1. https://www.payloadz.com/default.aspx I know small businesses that use this Payloadz to upload mp3 files for sale as downloads.
Passive income is great and like you say you only need to know how to sell them everything else is done – you have the files, you have a website just add the patloadz link and viola

  2. I like your blog on e:books and on MP3 downloads. I think it must be a bit like getting a hit record, or going viral. In the right place at the right time, but also offering value and of course a USP. (unique selling point)
My area of ‘expertise’ is tarot, but there are millions of books etc on it already. I don’t think anything that I have to say on the subject would add further enlightenment to anyone, it’s all been said before!
But hey if you’ve already done the work, why not get paid for it, you’ve got nothing to loose! I hope it pays off for you.

  3. If you’ve got the files already recorded what have you got to lose? Go for it!
