Counting my Blessings
Hello, I’m back from holiday. I hope you didn’t miss me too much *grin*.
I’ve been run off my feet with work since we got back from holiday a couple of days ago, taking several new orders and working hard to finish existing orders. I’ve mentioned before how I love my job and how I feel honoured to be able to create something special for clients.
Today though, I’m counting my blessings. From time to time, we are asked to produce a piece of jewellery as a memorial to a baby who has died. My role in this is to liaise with the client and help them design their piece of jewellery. It’s very rewarding, but also difficult; it’s an odd position to be in and not something I imagined I would be doing. Without fail, creating a memorial order always leaves me feeling incredibly lucky to have my two children, safe and well. I cannot begin to imagine how it must feel to lose a child and I’m always humbled by the strength of the clients I meet.
I know I’ll be giving them both an extra big hug tonight.
