Interview with a … five year old
Just over a year ago, I asked my then four year old son a series of questions. You can read his answers in the post “Interview with a Four Year Old“. I thought it would be fun to see how much things have changed in the 14 months since he answered them, and asked him the same set of questions again today.
How old are you? Five
How old are Mummy and Daddy? Daddy is 44 and I don’t know how old Mummy is
Who is in charge of the country? Jesus
Who is the Queen? Don’t know
What’s your favourite food? Pasta bake
How do you make pasta bake? You use some pasta. If you want to you can put some bacon in. You’ve got to put peppers in and some tomato sauce. Not ketchup, a puree. And you can put some mushrooms in if you want. Put it in the oven and then when it’s warm you eat.
What’s your favouite song? Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis
Where do carrots come from? The ground
What do you do at school? I play with Sam and I do phonics and I listen to Miss Peat
What does Mummy do when you’re at school? She works at home and looks after Cacha.
What does Daddy do when you’re at school? He goes to HP
How does a car work? It has to have petrol and you’ve got to try and keep that petrol as long as you can.
Where do babies come from? Mummies’ tummies. The Mummies go to hospital and they have to have a special appointment and that’s it.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A racer – a flying pod racer. And I want to try and win a quiz so I can have first choice of podmod. (He had just watched Kerwhizz though – last week he wanted to be a detective and the week before he wanted to be an explorer.)
What will you call your children? I’ll call them Casheres and I’ll call my son Ceaern (accompanied by lots of giggles as he spelt these out because he pronounced them very close to his and his sister’s name)
What is something Mummy always says to you? “Don’t be grumpy”, because you want me to be happy so we can play together or sit together or we can sing to Cacha together.
What are your favourite toys? Woody and Babbits (Woody from Toy Story; Babbits is the fluffy bunny we bought him for his first Christmas).
What makes you happy? You and Daddy and Cacha
What makes you sad? Sam calling me Kevin when I’m actually Ben Ten Ultimate Alien
What’s the best thing in the whole world? When Sam plays with me and doesn’t nag me.
What a lovely post. Makes me very excited to get to know my 9month old as she grows!
