INTERnational Crochet Month: You can have your cake and eat it

A little bit of a strange post, this one, but not to worry, because it involves cake – and chocolate cake at that.

As you’ll know by now, March is National Crochet Month in the US, and I’ve been getting involved even though I’m here in little ole Blighty.  I’ve joined a CAL challenge set by the boys at Shibaguyz Designz and have been getting on OK with it.  Today they decided that really, National Crochet Month should be INTERnational Crochet Month, to let the rest of us in on the action (not that it’s stopped us so far!).  They set a challenge for us all to show our International Crochet Month spirit in any way we like, being as creative as possible.  They mentioned cake. Several times.

And so I decided I would bake a cake. In case you’re interested, it’s a glorious cake.  It’s rich, chocolatey, fudgey and yummy.  Oh, and best of all, it’s gluten free.  The message on top is my link to crochet – and a challenge to all you UK crochet peeps to come and join me in the CAL and turn March into a truly International Crochet Month.

In case you can’t quite read it (since writing in icing at 1am isn’t my strong point!) it says “Hook up with Shibaguyz” and includes the Twitter hashtag for International Crochet Month: #intlcromo
