National Crochet Month: Shibaguyz CAL

So, even though it’s not actually National Crochet Month here in the UK, I decided to take part and so far it’s going well.

I joined up on Ravelry (why didn’t I know this existed before?) and then joined in a Crochet Along.  The idea is to choose a pattern by Shibaguyz and make it during this month.  I’ve chosen this gorgeous wrap front shrug for myself and am using the yarn I bought for the ill-fated hat for my step daughter last year.

I love the pattern on this shrug – it looks similar to one I bought at great expense a few years ago (but was always too hot when wearing it because it was quite thick).  This one is fingering weight yarn (4 ply) and the stitches look great as I make it.  I’ve almost finished the back.

As for the other plans I had this month, I’ve found lots of bag patterns that I love – 43 to be exact! Next job is to narrow these down to half a dozen which is a more manageable number I think 🙂  Then I can get started on those, but first I’m going to finish this wrap!

  1. one of the great regrets of my life is that i have not yet learned to crochet. my mum taught me to knit when i was fairly young and i never really took to it very well. but i think i would really enjoy crocheting.
