Bag a Bargain

All this month, Barefoot Books have had a sale on, which included some of their most popular titles.  Today is the last day, the last chance to get your hands on some amazing bargains.  Some of the most popular titles have been included in the sale, with discounts of up to 80%.

Here are my tips for the best bargains (these are all ones I’ve bought for my son, so are coming recommended from experience).

Peace, Love and Vegetables has to be my first recommendation.  It’s the story of Herb, the Vegetarian Dragon, alone in a world of knight and princess-eating dragons.  When the humans decide to retaliate, Herb is caught and sentenced to death.  The other dragons offer to help him if he gives up his principles.    I won’t give away the ending (but it is happy!).  The book is accompanied by a wonderful bendy Herb toy, and ideas of how to use the packaging to make a play scene and a vegetable garden of your own.  Peace, Love and Vegetables is half price at £4.99

One, two, skip a few, ninety-nine, one hundred …. Do you remember that rhyme?  One, Two, Skip a Few is an enormous book of counting rhymes.  It starts simply and builds to more challenging rhymes about subtraction and multiplication.  It has twenty different rhymes, and really is a bargain – reduced from £14.99 to just £3.99 – but this offer ends today!

Mr Betts and Mr PottsMr Betts and Mr Potts is an hilarious story written in rhyme. When his pets suddenly develop spots, Mr Betts hurries to Mr Potts, the vet, for help. Mr Potts is happy to oblige, but his cure has alarming consequences. As the pets are afflicted with stripes, beards, tears and more, Mr Potts offers successive wonder medicines of different colours, until at last a remedy is found. Written in rollicking rhyme, and with illustrations that are just as outlandish as the story itself, Mr Betts and Mr Potts will appeal to everyone with a sense of the ridiculous.  This hardback edition is reduced from £9.99 to just £1.99!

There are lots of other bargains to be had; browse the full sale selection here.
